Tour Description

In Seville, every corner has a story, and most of them are about food. On this culinary stroll through Santa Cruz, Alfalfa, Las Setas and El Salvador, you’ll hop from 19th-century taverns to modern kitchens, sampling the flavors that make Andalusia so dangerously addictive.

We’re talking legendary jamón, sizzling chorizo cooked literally in flames, beloved pork cheeks and shrimps omelette, and ice cream that might ruin every one you’ll try afterwards. Plus, the locals have opinions. On everything. Including the perfect way to chill your tinto de verano (not sangria!), and they’re ready to show you.

Expect bold flavors, surprise favorites, just enough history to keep the history buffs among us hooked. It’s Andalusian cuisine done right.

"I was lucky enough to be one of the first to join this brand new tour. I’d do it again just for the flaming chorizo al infierno. The mix of old-school tapas bars and more modern spots was perfect, and our guide knew when to talk history and when to pass the wine. Learned a ton about Andalusian food. Highly recommend if you like your sightseeing with a side of jamón and no tourist traps. "

What Makes Santa Cruz and Alfalfa Special

Santa Cruz is Seville’s most enchanting barrio — a perfumed tangle of orange trees, whitewashed walls, and lanes so narrow the buildings nearly touch overhead. Its winding streets open into sunlit plazas where flamenco drifts from behind iron-grilled windows. Tiny tapas bars serve salmorejo, jamón de bellota, and espinacas con garbanzos alongside cold manzanilla — all enjoyed standing at tiled counters or squeezed onto impossibly small terraces.

Alfalfa, just north, has a more local rhythm. Its namesake plaza is where sevillanos meet for morning coffee and evening cañas without a tourist menu in sight. The surrounding streets are lined with no-frills tapas bars where the menu is shouted from behind the counter and a plate of carrillada arrives without ceremony but with absolute perfection. Alfalfa is where Seville eats for itself — generous, unfussy, and exactly the kind of place you never want to leave.

Meet Your Local Seville Tour Guides

Our Seville food tours are led by people who were raised on tapas, sherry, and the art of a long, unhurried meal. Market regulars, flamenco lovers, and neighborhood storytellers who know which tiled bar has the best tortilla and where to find the coldest manzanilla in town. They share Seville the way sevillanos live it — with warmth, pride, and the unshakeable belief that there's always time for one more tapa.

I was born and raised in beautiful Seville, a city full of life, tradition, and flavor. I’m proud to share its charm and secrets with curious travelers from around the world.
My favorite dish? Definitely papas aliñás! This simple yet delicious potato salad brings back so many childhood memories.
What I love most is walking through Seville’s lively neighborhoods, discovering hidden corners, and watching the city come alive with music, tapas, and flamenco.
Adolfo

After living in the US and Italy for a couple of years in each country, I am glad to be back showing new people my hometown.
My favourite Spanish dish is the Tortilla de patatas. I can never get enough, and love trying all the different versions of it around the city!
As a local tip, I would suggest hitting a rooftop bar for the golden hour. Sevilla tends to have great temperature and weather all year long so it’s likely to be fabulous

What should I wear?

There is no dress code on our tours, however it’s recommended to wear a good pair of shoes (these are walking tours, after all!) and be prepared for the elements, even though most of our stops are indoors.

Are tourists welcome in Seville?

Yes, absolutely. There’s a Spanish concept of duende, the mysterious power of a performance to move you deeply. It speaks to the soul of Andalusia, and it’s a feeling we believe every visitor should experience in Seville.

You’ll find that spirit of duende from locals when you connect with the city respectfully. It’s found when you support the family-run tapas bars in Triana, respect the silence during a flamenco performance, and wander the beautiful, quiet courtyards of the Santa Cruz quarter. This is the authentic Seville experience.

It’s this connection we create on our Eating Europe tours. We step away from the crowds and take you to the places locals truly love, introducing you to the people behind the food and the stories that make this city one of a kind.

Tour Experience & Expectations

Will the guide speak my language?

Our guides are all fluent in English, and of course speak Spanish as well. For requests for tours in other languages, please contact us.

Can I take photos during the tour?

Yes! You are welcome to take photos and videos of the food and scenery throughout your tour. If you would explicitly like to get photos of fellow guests or your guide, we kindly ask that you get their permission first.

Do I need to tip the guide?

Tips for our lovely guides are not required, but they are appreciated!

Will we visit the same places as other tours?

No. While some tours may have one or two stops which other groups visit (can’t help it if they’re popular!), Eating Europe are proud that the majority of stops on every Seville tour are restaurants and vendors who work exclusively with us.

Do you offer private or custom tours?

We do! Please see the “Book a Private Tour” option or contact us, and we can arrange a private or custom Seville tour to suit your specific needs.
