We had an amazing experience with Eating in Europe! From making (and eating!) fresh pasta to tasting different wines, every part of the experience was fun and engaging. We loved learning about the history and culture behind the food, it added so much meaning to each dish. The gelato was a perfect bonus, and the fun, relaxed conversations with the main instructor really made the experience special. Thanks as well for the cigar recommendation, and for all the humor throughout—I promise I’ll learn to knead better 😂 Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn, eat well, and have a great time!

What a fantastic way to enjoy and learn about Roman food and visit a very cool neighborhood - Trastevere. It was a great experience from start to finish thanks to our leader Miri, who was fantastic. Over the four hours we walked, ate, and quickly made new friends on our group ( there were 11 of us; no group is more than 12.) Two thumbs up for Eating Europe’s Twilight Trastevere food tour. I highly recommend!

We had an absolutely fantastic pasta-making class with Leonardo through Eating Europe. Leonardo was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable—he made the entire experience fun, relaxed, and easy to follow, even for beginners.
He explained each step clearly, shared great tips about Italian cooking and food culture, and made sure everyone felt involved. The pasta turned out delicious, and the experience felt both authentic and personal rather than touristy. You could tell he truly loves what he does, and that passion made the class unforgettable.
This was a highlight of our trip and something we’d recommend to anyone visiting Rome who wants a hands-on, memorable food experience. Grazie, Leonardo!

I did a tour with Eatinh Europe in Rome and it ended up being the highlight of my trip. Our guide Rish was amazing — super charismatic, warm, charming, and welcoming, and clearly very knowledgeable. He mixed Rome’s history, food, culture, and local traditions in such a natural and fun way that it never felt like a lecture. We visited so many authentic places and met amazing Italians. I had an absolute blast the whole time. Honestly, Rish was the best part of it, he was the soul of our tour!
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to make their trip to Rome truly unforgettable!

There is no dress code on our tours, however it’s recommended to wear a good pair of shoes (these are walking tours, after all!) and be prepared for the elements, even though most of our stops are indoors.
Are tourists welcome in Rome?
Yes, absolutely. There’s an Italian tradition, the passeggiata—the gentle evening stroll to see and be seen. It’s about enjoying the city’s beauty at a relaxed pace, and it’s a feeling we believe every visitor should experience in Rome.
You’ll find the spirit of the passeggiata from locals when you connect with the city respectfully. It’s found when you support the family-run trattorias in Trastevere, help keep the ancient fountains pristine, and learn to navigate the beautiful, organised chaos of daily life. This is the authentic Rome experience.
It’s this connection we create on our Eating Europe tours. We step away from the crowds and take you to the places locals truly love, introducing you to the people behind the food and the stories that make this city one of a kind.
Tour Experience & Expectations
Will the guide speak my language?
Our guides are all fluent in English, and of course speak Italian as well. For requests for tours in other languages, please contact us.
Can I take photos during the tour?
Yes! You are welcome to take photos and videos of the food and scenery throughout your tour. If you would explicitly like to get photos of fellow guests or your guide, we kindly ask that you get their permission first.
Do I need to tip the guide?
Tips for our lovely guides are not required, but they are appreciated!
Will we visit the same places as other tours?
No. While some tours may have one or two stops which other groups visit (can’t help it if they’re popular!), Eating Europe are proud that the majority of stops on every Rome tour are restaurants and vendors who work exclusively with us, like Da Enzo al 29.
Do you offer private or custom tours?
We do! Please see the “Book a Private Tour” option or contact us, and we can arrange a private or custom Rome tour to suit your specific needs.
